have you ever gotten so angry ... so pissed off ... so utterly aggravated that you don't know how to vent? like screaming into a pillow or punching a wall wouldn't get rid of this anger. and all you can do is just breathe to keep yourself from exploding.

i bought this bracelet.
it's a melanoma awareness bracelet.
my dad had melanoma and he died in 2001.

i'm on a quest to learn more about what happened.
my dad's illness began with ocular melanoma.
ocular melanoma is melanoma of the eye.
this is why he had his eye removed.
i didn't know this before today.
i knew he had a glass eye but i never asked why.

in the US, melanoma occurs in about 6 people per million per year.
it is more common in fair-skinned people or people with blue eyes.
so to be safe, get suspicious moles checked out
and ask your eye doctor about ocular melanoma.

i plan on doing more for this cause.
because quite frankly, i miss my dad more and more each day...

i emailed my professors about my finals and how i'm going to hawaii on the 16th. 2 of my professors said i can't switch my exams.

so it looks like i'm not going to hawaii. awesome...

i guess i got lucky last year.

me and leigh are seeing 'the devil wears prada' next weekend. the first movie i have seen in the movie theater in a long time. i hope it's good.

we are also going to see sleater-kinney on july 31st. sah-weet.

me and corene are getting facials next week.

i hope andrea has off one of the days i have off next week so she can come down here and hang out.

this is the first saturday i'm not working in a very long time. or at least i hope i'm not working. stupid matt g.

gooooood times.

i wish it wasn't crappy out. i wanted to go to philly today.

word on the street (or the depeche mode message board) is that dave is sick. montezuma's revenge or something. half of one of their show was cut off. and chicago might be cancelled.

so help me god if i don't see depeche mode on sunday, i will kill someone.

EDIT: dave has laryngitis. the chicage show was cancelled. but as of right now, no other shows have been cancelled. cross your finers for me.

the 4 and a half year wait to see depeche mode again was totally 100% worth it...

they were absoutely amazing. the borgata was about the same size of the convention hall in asbury. it was so small compared to the other places they have been playing. it was awesome. i have never been to atlantic city before so it was cool seeing all the buildings and the lights and whatnot.

we got into the casino and walked down to the event center. we were standing somewhere in the middle and the bravery was on. i decided to try to get closer so we moved more to the left. which is martin's side. and who do i see standing next to me? richard earl littlefield. i had no idea he was even going! crazy stuff.. we talked for like a second but the keyboardist in the bravery had his keyboard turned up waaay too loud. they were pretty good. not as bad as i thought they were gonna be.

then the longest wait of all time! right before a band you wanna see is about to go on, it feels like an eternity. am i right? then the lights went down... ahhhh... sooooo good....

dave gahan. he is perfection, i tell you. perfection. he is 43 years old and he has such an amazing looking body. and face. the man hardly has any wrinkles. god bless yoga. his jacket came off after the first song and the vest came off about half way through. :) i love him. and we will soon reunite again and we will be married. i don't care what anyone says.

the setlist was so good. they finally wised up after the exciter tour and played some older songs. along with the favorites of personal jesus, enjoy the silence (!!!!!), walking in my shoes, i feel you, home, never let me down again, they also played policy of truth, world in my eyes, a question of time, just can't get enough, somebody, everything counts and goodnight lovers. and of course they played their 'playing the angel' tracks; john the revelator, a pain that im used to, suffer well, the sinner in me, damaged people, i want it all, and precious. a good 21 song set. lovelovelove.

i think the highlight, besides 'enjoy the silence', was definitely 'world in my eyes'. the screen projections (which were awesome throughout the whole show) during the song were....oh man. so good. they just did close-ups of dave's body. scandalous. but i loved every second of it, of course. he is so hot.

anyway....i'm disappointed my night is done. but he did say 'see you next time'. which is always a good thing. true dm fans know this. so i can't wait until next time. maybe i'll have a job paying job by then and i can go to more than one show. :)

besides the show, staying in philly over the weekend was cool. except when i fell. i fell flat on my stomach on the streets of philadelphia as we were walking back to leigh's apartment. my knees are all messed up now and still hurt. i hope i didn't do any real damage. but yeah. i'm a klutz.

so yeah. happyyyyy!
